See Lost Cousins at the Markham Craft Beer and Wine Festival on Saturday August 18, 2018.
Family isn’t always bound by blood. In the case of Lost Cousins, it is bound through a deep connection found in their distinct blend of indie rock made up of celestial synthesizer textures, polyrhythmic percussion, chanting vocals, and space echoed guitars.
Formed at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, Dylan Cantlon Hay, Cam Duffin, Lloyd McArton, and Thomas Dashney had humble beginnings performing at house parties, where they became known on campus for their high-energy live shows and hypnotic songs.
With the successful release of singles ‘Feel an Emotion’ and ‘Quarters’ in 2016, Lost Cousins toured throughout Canada and the United States, including opening for The Strumbellas, Hollerado, and The Wooden Sky. Recent Canadian festival performances include sets at Wayhome (2016), CityFolk (2016), NXNE (2017), and Hillside Festival (2017).
The band spent the of spring of 2018 finishing their debut record band with Montreal-based mix engineer Jace Lasek (The Besnard Lakes, Land of Talk) and LA-based mastering engineer Brian Lucey (The Black Keys, Royal Blood). Later this year, the band is set to release a string of new 7” singles, and their highly anticipated debut album in February 2019.
